As a Flight Crew member you will be required to work at our clients remote mine site and construction bases, where you will fly Multi-engine IFR Beechcraft BE58 & Piper Navajo PA31-310 & 350 aircraft..

Upon appointment all Crew will be required to successfully complete the Aus West Airlines integrated mine site safety, driver awareness and aviation induction training programs before commencing line training.

Single Crew accommodation, and services are provided with meal, uniform and performance safety bonuses.

Salary package (in excess of award) negotiated with successful applicants I.A.W experience.

Selection Process

The selection process has been divided into 3 phases being;

Phase 1 Selection
Phase 2 Interview
Phase 3 Simulator Flight Assessment

What does the Selection phase involve?

The selection process will assess applicants flying experience and bona fides in relation to the minimum selection criteria and may involve reference and previous employment history checks. Applicants will be notified by email as to the status of their application within 2 weeks of applications being received. 

What does the Interview phase involve?

The interview will be of approximately 1 hour duration. Interviewers have complete discretion to vary the length of the interview and the time taken should not be interpreted as an indication of the candidate's performance

What does the Simulator Flight Assessment involve?

The primary aim of the Simulator Flight Assessment is to evaluate instrument flying skills, spatial orientation and manipulative abilities.

The Assessment will be conducted in a B58 simulator. The simulated flight will take place within the Karratha terminal area. There is no radio work required and no assymetric flying.

The Check Captain will not provide monitoring or assistance during the instrument flying exercises or approaches, so the assessment will be a single pilot operation.

Where do I have to go for the assessments?

Assessments are conducted at the Aus West Airlines training facility at Karratha WA, however other locations may be used for copany convenience.

What happens after the assessment?

Assessment results cannot be discussed with the candidate on the day of assessment. Each candidate will be contacted by letter, fax, phone or e-mail as appropriate within 1 week of assessment.
